How has your weekend been so far? Here in Portland, It’s sunny and beautiful, without a rain cloud in sight! It’s the first nice weekend we’ve had in months! I just had a really inspiring chat with Gala and now it’s time to get some work done.

I’d like to thank everyone who made it out to the art show at Nemo HQ on Friday. It was by far the biggest show yet with attendance pushing 500! The combination of installation pieces and brightly colored paintings are pretty stunning in person and definitely got everyone talking.

P.S. My brother and I just signed a bunch of papers earlier in the week and if everything goes as planned, it’s going to be pretty awesome. Cross your fingers for us!

Peace, Love & Nubbiness,

I’ve had a red nameplate necklace for quite some time, but the white is my new favorite. Get yours here!

Mr. Mozart has been hangin’ out on my bookshelf. He’s super old school and made of painted plaster!

I’ve been working on a big, limited edition screen printed poster…and this is the text! Haha! Okay, so it’s going to be my take on a pulp fiction cover for an upcoming show. And you’ll be the first to see it once it’s finished!

I was sooo excited to score these awesome Skullcandy type-covered headphones from a coworker. Coincidentally, they remind me very much of this Nemo shirt.

A few days ago, I noticed fellow Nemo-ite Morgan wearing a blonde wig. I realized that there were also a caveman beard and an 80s rocker hairdo on his desk so Tyler and I joined in for an impromptu photo shoot! My look is little ZZ Top, a little dirty hippie, perhaps?!

Next Week Sneak Peak: Tune in for photographs of my corporate identity, a watch review, press kit advice and much, much more!

How was your week??

What I Wore: Halloween 2008

This year, I went as Minnie Mouse for Halloween, partly because I already had everything (besides the headband, false eyelashes and black lipstick) in my possession! My outfit was a bit more schoolgirl Minnie / vintage Mouseketeer than the standard.

What I wore:

Dress with belt, vintage
Red bowtie, Loulou Loves You
Minnie Mouse headband, vintage
Wool jacket, Love & Glamour
Cotton crinoline, vintage
Knee highs, unknown
Bow wedges, Corsocomo
Patent Purse, Miu Miu

The party was insanely packed and the costumes were amazing! My favorite part every year is the ‘photo booth.’ There’s a real photographer that snaps your pictures against a backdrop and they print out for you to keep.

The first set was with Lee (he was a hippie burnout! SO FUNNY!), and Todd & Alex from the Nemo photo department.

In the second set, my brother jumped in, along with Axl Rose and a skeleton girl!

As the night goes on, the photos naturally get more crazy. This is pretty represenative of how the party was looking at midnight!

I hope you had a fantastic Halloween! I was warm, comfortable and people could actually tell who I was (unlike last year when I was Steve Perry) so all in all, it was a great night!

A few days ago, I had a really late night at work but when I came home, I was surprised with this! Lee’s family was in town all week and his mom made a MASSIVE apple pie. (I secretly love having so many heart-shaped dishes and baking pans. Heart-shaped food makes everything better!!!)

Heehee, I made some new friends this week…and their names are Marni!

I’d been lusting after some wedges from the Spring 2008 collection for awhile and when a pair came up in my size on Ebay for a total steal, I jumped in! They’re literally like sculptures. In case you were wondering, they’re not easy to walk in, but they sure are beautiful to look at!

This is totally random, but if you’ve never been to Portland, one of the first things that you see when entering downtown is this massive purple monstrosity! It never seems to die. You think it would get popped, but it’s probably immortal.

One of the packages I received this week was from my Virgo soulmate, Gala Darling and it contained not only a cute letter of all the reasons why we’re a perfect match, but a GLITTER GLOVE! She’s one of the only people who understands my undying love for Michael Jackson.

I had the best latte today while dining on waffles with my friend Erin. We’ve known each other the longest out of all of all of my friends (BFF’s since 1996, baby!) so we share a very special bond.

Isn’t she adorable?!

I guess I should mention what else I’ve been up to. Nemo is having an insane Halloween party tonight (I say INSANE and mean it because over 1,500 people have RSPVed!) and we’ve been decorating for the last two days. It looks amazing!

And, with that, I am off to change into my costume!

Happy Halloween, everyone!
What’s your costume going to be this year?

The Week in Pictures: 8.22.08

Life has been exceptionally good lately. Gala (my Virgo soulmate) and I have been feverishly planning our joint birthday celebrations in Central Park on September 13th! Since we’re on opposite sides of the world at the moment (she’s in New Zealand & I’m in Oregon), there’s been a flurry of emails constantly flying, sometimes up to 15 or more a day!

We’re getting the job done; so far we’ve picked out a cupcake supplier, booked an amazing hotel room with floor-to-ceiling windows and asked the best photographer in town (who’s also a Virgo!) to take some snaps of the festivities! We’ve got all the basics covered! Now, onto the invites….

In Other News

Last weekend, I traded in a huge pile of old clothes and the cleaning frenzy continues with no end in site. When my surroundings are organized, I feel better. Though, I also have an ulterior motive: the Fall fashion offerings in NYC are always so good that I need to make room for new acquisitions!

Even though Lee & I have been living in our place for 8 months now, I still felt like we had no furniture. I was sick of the bare bones look, so we just made a trip to IKEA and procured some basics like this locker cabinet for the living room to hold our records (my collection of Journey albums needed a place to live, I tell you!)

More good news: I’ve been accepted into the elusive & exclusive Secret Society of Lady Bloggers. This all stems from the commentary on this page (of which I will expand upon more very soon).

Have you ever tried this San Pellegrino orange drink? It’s super tasty and I’ve been picking one up when it’s too hot to drink coffee. YUM!

So, this is very very weird (and naturally, could only take place at Nemo). I was sitting at my desk yesterday morning when I noticed an odd mix of choking sounds coupled with the infamous ‘chicken dance’ song. When I walked around the corner, this is what I saw! HA!
