I’m so happy to be sharing a new installment of In The Mood, my series dedicated to real life mood boards. Even though I love creating a good digital mood board, over time I’ve been getting burnt out on the same old posts compiled of “Pinterest pretty.” This week, I was inspired by a second-hand black Jean Paul Gaultier skirt that I recently found at Buffalo Exchange.

Over the Summer, I wore a lot more brights than usual but as Portland eases into Fall, I’m reverting back to my tried-and-true black layers. I plan on pairing this skirt with black tights and a leather jacket.

This week’s In The Mood is all about yellow. Go bright or go home! I’ve been having a serious love affair with the hue lately — first, it was the mix of yellow Poppin accessories that made their way into my office and then it was the blazingly bright espresso machine setup. Yellow feels so full of optimism and I can’t get enough.

These very Big Bird-like Matikos are definitely one of the more eccentric pairs of shoes I own but I tend to balance them out with all black ensembles. I always joke that shoes like this are the equivalent of an explanation point at the end of an outfit!

I’ve been in LA all week soaking up the sun, taking walks down Hollywood Blvd. and enjoying the change of scenery. I’ve been here many times before but each I try to stay somewhere new since the city is so large. I love ease of getting ahold of healthy food, fresh juice and strolling along palm lined streets.

Tangerine and ocean-infused blues are reminding me of LA and sitting by the pool (which I sadly have not done at all this trip). I’m totally loving the unexpected mix of these colors.
