WHOOOA. THIS. I think this works a lot for many different things, I can see it being especially true in writing. I’ve known a lot of people who are very secretive about their storylines or plots becuase they fear someone will take them from them, but, I’ve found it is so much more freeing when you start to share with people, their imput on things you didn’t realize at first can be really helpful. And then when they offer some small something you can take it and build off of it.

I’ve been waffling working on shared-idea project writing as of late, worried it’d take away time I need for my own things, but, the very essence of this idea is what helped me decided to sort of go for it anyway, you never know how much you may get in return for it.

This touches on an issue that I’ve written long articles about.

When I was first starting out as a cartoonist, my Dad was on my ass trying to get me to not release anything until I’ve got copyrights and trademarks in place, lest someone steal my ideas.

I threw it back at him double:
    1. If all I have is the one good idea that needs protecting, I’ve got bigger problems than people stealing my work.
    2. All of the time spent registering that stuff and thinking about it is time I’m not spending creating work, getting good, and being prolific.

Being prolific is the solution to every problem an Artist faces.

This quote opens doors, windows and takes my heavy clothes off. I like it! Just Flow. Thanks.

I love that quote because it’s so true. People are so worried about others stealing their ideas, when ideas are free and the more you let go of them, the more better ideas come to you. It’s like a creativity recycling program!
