Austin has been a great experience, though the Summer-like weather here is throwing me for a loop! After working a booth at Flatstock for two days and spending last night at a crazy warehouse party, Monday was spent exploring the city, hanging out at the hotel pool and doing some vintage shopping.

Flatstock was so much fun; our booth was next to fellow Portlander Guy Burwell who kept us amused during the long hours! I also was able to trade for a handful of really amazing screenprint posters from the other booths that I’ll share later.

Only in Texas. (Yes, the waffles were surprisingly tasty!)

This guy cut in front of us on the freeway. Don’t mess with Texas!

Lee Z kept me company by the pool…awww.

My beloved suitcase: MJ, Gary Coleman, a heart tag, and a Big Lebowski quote!

The private party we went to Saturday night was totally out of control. I’ve never seen so much broken glass in the street! The props inside the space blew my mind; huge letters, mannequin heads, a massive black horse sculpture, and a kiddy pool full of beer…

I’ve had such a great time and I can’t wait to come back next year! The icing on the cake was meeting my friend Lau who I’ve known online for 8 years. It’s so awesome to finally meet someone and they’re exactly how you’d expect them to be. I miss Portland, but it’s been a nice change of pace to sleep in for the first time in months!
