Shelf Beautiful!

When I originally took a tour through the house I live in now, the first thing I noticed was a massive white built-in shelf in the living room. Since moving in last December, random nick-knacks have been resting in the space. I finally made time to take everything out and reorganize it and thought I’d share!

My goal was to use things I already had lying around the house to fill the space. The dishes are mostly vintage (via my Mom and Goodwill), the Buddha is Lee’s, the lithograph is by Antigirl, the Mozart bust (!) is from an antiques mall and I pulled an old stack of NYLON mags and some books off my bookcase.

Recently, I’ve noticed the trend of using contact paper or wallpaper to cover the insides of bookcases and cupboards to make them more interesting; I had some striped tissue paper lying around and taped it into the back wall. The entire living room is painted a putty color so the stripes really make it pop!
