Vectortrash Draws Nubby

Yesterday afternoon, I did my usual log-in to Flickr when something reminiscent of classic Swiss poster design on my contacts page caught my attention. When I clicked on the image, I realized it was an illustration of yours truly by Swiss graphic designer Vectortrash! This is a huge honor because he is one of my favorite graphic designers of all time — he has a way of being current (and sometimes edgy) while still adhering to traditional grids and clean type choices.

I love seeing works in progress! Some people feel like it’s a taboo, but I disagree. Progress shots prove that art and design isn’t magic, that it takes insight, thought, and work to make a vision come to life. Even if the final outcome is only viewed on my computer screen, I want to see the soul and bones of the original idea.

VT — Yes, shipping can get spendy. If you’d be willing to send me a massive PDF file, I have access to a large color printer and I could find a big white frame at IKEA. :)
