Latest & Greatest: Mid-century Modern Clocks

There’s something about clocks in general that have a sense of nostalgia. Sure, I have my iPhone sitting on my desk that can tell time perfectly accurately but I’ve been wanting a wall clock for my office. Maybe it reminds me of being in school in the 90s before kids had cell phones and we’d all watch the clock, waiting for class to get out for the day.

I have a soft spot for mid-century modern style clocks because they feel more like mini pieces of art than the standard-issue clocks I grew up with.

The most recognizable designs were produced by George Nelson, who ran a design studio in New York City for the Howard Miller Clock Company. While most of these reissues are sadly out of my budget, I stumbled upon the Watch Me Wall Clock. The 8 colored panels remind me of paint chips and I love the simple design. Mine just arrived this week and is now hanging across from my desk — I love it!

Aren’t these clocks super cool?! 1. sunburst, 2. eye, 3. black asterisk, 4. sunflower, 5. watch me asterisk, 6. ball, 7. watch me asterisk, 8. petal clock and 9. wheel.

What about you? Do you have an old school clock hanging in your space or are you all about the digital?

I just find wall clocks so convient!
We don’t have one in the kitchen for example and I don’t always carry my phone/tablet with me.

Plus they give the room more design, so yes, please more clocks to show your personal taste 😀

Wall clocks still have a lot of appeal, even in an age where we’ve started to move past everyone wearing a watch. These clocks also double as art pieces, which only adds to the appeal. I think the eye clock is the most interesting one out of these, but the design on #4 is really nice and elegant looking too. Thanks for sharing!
