Hi, I hope you had a great week! It’s been nothing short of intense over here between launching Rock n Roll Bride Magazine, getting ready for my 5th anniversary party tomorrow and gearing up to fly out to San Francisco for Blogcademy next week. Never a dull moment!

This is one of my Summer haunts. I think it’s so, so important to support local businesses and spend a lot of time at the food carts in my neighborhood. There’s a back sun room with a bar (my pick is the cherry pomegranate cider!) and a box of Trivial Pursuit cards on every table. It’s the perfect place to put away your phone and chill out!

My office totally has an urban tropical vibe going on. This fashion editorial was in the newest Marie Claire and I LOVE it so much. Oh, and if you’re on the search for palm on a budget, mine was $15.00 at IKEA and with a little TLC, it’s gotten so big.

If I have a lunch meeting, Roman Candle is always my pick. I’ve raved about their pizza a million times but there are also great bakery treats, coffee (It’s owned by Stumptown), salads and sandwiches. It’s the first place I take friends who are visiting and every time, it’s a crowd pleaser.

This is my favorite corner of the office. I wanted to mention the resources since this setup wasn’t the same in my original office tour earlier in the year. The yellow table is actually the Stockholm nightstand from IKEA, the chairs are the The Bend Ethel (but crazily enough, my brother found them at a swap meet in Southern California for just $40.00 a piece!), the bench is by Safavieh and the print is by Debbie Carlos.

September always feels like a time of transition and change to me. Does it for you, too? I always equated it to back-to-school when I was younger but it was also around this time that I originally launched Nubby Twiglet, Blogcademy and Branch. I can feel so many shifts happening and you know what? Change is AWESOME. Getting a little shake-up here and there keeps you on your A-game. The projects I’m working on right now feel very challenging and in a way, I love that. It forces you to grow and evolve. If you’re in the same boat right now, try to look at the positives. Good things don’t happen when you’re stuck in a rut. Going bigger is scary but it’s also necessary to make the things happen that you’re dreaming about. #peptak

And with that, I’m signing off — gotta get our house ready for the party tomorrow! Have a great weekend, friends!
