What’s your take on wearing all black to the beach?
I say the more, the merrier! Since I wear head-to-toe black on a near daily basis, it might as well cross over to my fun, games and vacation, too. Why all the black? It’s classic, it never goes out of style and truthfully, when you take long trips like I do, it’s nice to open your suitcase and not be faced with a pile of clashing colors and patterns that don’t work together (which I used to fall victim to more times than I’d like to admit).
Some of you long-time readers might be nodding at the familiarity of this neoprene dress — that’s because it’s the long-lost relative of good ol’ Zipper Hips, an old-school favorite that still lurks in my closet. The neoprene makes it beach-ready but the accentuated silhouette adds a bit of drama, which I know you fellow beach goths love!
Get the look: 1. neoprene dress, 2. zip-front maillot, 3. mesh midi cover up, 4. mesh rashguard (I own this and the fit is awesome), 5. straw boat hat, 6. cage bikini top, 7. lost weekend shades and knee-high sandal.
This photo sums up the way I feel every time I’m in LA. Hey, beach goths can be happy, too! đŸ˜‰
