The Week In Pictures: 4.11.15

I hope you had a good week! I love this time of year because as the weather is getting nicer, more of my friends are visiting Portland. Star was here this week to teach me some basic web development stuff — Branch has been launching 2 to 3 new websites a month and it’s important to stay current with best practices. Of course, we found plenty of time to eat out, too. Some of the places we visited this week included Grendel’s (the orange cardamom lattes are amazing), Foster Burger (order a boozy milkshake and truffle fries), Doug Fir (awesome happy hour menu and a photo booth), Roman Candle (gourmet pizza and gold scissors) and Grand Central (great for grabbing pastries for the office).

Treat yo’self. Hired help is always happier when there’s pastries around! Also, IKEA is killing it with cool dishes lately. They have a new black and white collection covered in stripes and dots that’s worth checking out.

Chubs wanted me to share his weekly glamour shot with you. Pretty handsome, huh?

Fresh Branch orange flowers, just because.

Whenever I’m on this corner in S.E. Portland, I snap a photo. The rest of this area is changing so quickly that I like to have images to look back on.

I have so much more I want to share with you but the words aren’t flowing…and maybe that’s because I was up way too late, chatting with friends at an art opening and then awake very early to walk across town with Joey and Rocky. It’s a good reminder that when the words don’t flow, you don’t have to force them. That’s the beauty of blogging — you can tell a story in photos, video or any other format — your post doesn’t have to follow the standard conventions every single time. On that note, I’ll leave you with this quote:

“Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.” —Edward de Bono

I hope you’re having a great weekend, everyone!

I love that you snap a photo of the Bagdad corner. I have a photo of that corner from when I first visited Portland in 2006. Now that I actually live here, I’ve been meaning to take pictures in the same spot to see how they have changed.

Chubs is so cute! I wish we had squirrels in New Zealand. When we were in India my partner was so taken with all the squirrels, he took so many photos of them!

I’m not familiar with some of them but I just love pictures and story about them. Yes I saw a delightful thing through your placement and presentation here.
