How was your week? Mine was full of transition — over the weekend, I moved into my new office space and after one big trip to IKEA (and a whole lot of late night shopping online), it’s finally starting to feel like home. I always thought that needing a separate space to work away from home, especially when you already had a designated spot was full of clichés— really, how much more of a difference could it make? Was it really worth the extra rent, especially if you already felt super productive in your home surroundings? Well…one week in, I can tell you it’s made a world of difference. If you’re thinking of expanding / getting a space outside of your home, I’m working on a post for you about the benefits!
Getting to the office early is my jam — I love settling in with a hot cup of coffee, lighting a candle, going over my list for the day and digging in.
With the cooler weather setting in and the leaves changing color, I’ve been drawn to more autumnal colors. I love shades of mustard, olive and burgundy — they soften up my closet full of black and graphic patterns. This J. Crew cardigan was a total steal off a rack at Buffalo Exchange, my go-to place for clothes these days.
Over the weekend, my mom and stepdad took me out for a belated birthday lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory. The views of the river are always so beautiful and it’s one of the first memories I have of going out to eat 25+ years ago! An oldie but goodie.
Back to the office — I’m fine tuning all the details before the big reveal. I found these sturdy magazine organizers at IKEA and they’re great for sorting out my collection of catalogs and print reference materials.
These Zara heels are feeling right at home inside Branch HQ!
In Chubs news, he’s moved onto stealing all my makeup. I heard some rustling the other day and peeked in to find him running off with my MAC lipstick called Kinda Sexy. Hahahaha! He also grabs my compact of Studio Fix and kicks it around. All of this is much more welcomed than his antics of trying to hide toast and nuts in my hair!
Have an awesome weekend, everyone! I’m taking off tomorrow morning to meet my grandparents for breakfast and that’s the highlight of my weekend since I don’t get to see them as much as I’d like. Do you have anything you’re looking forward to?
