Oh, Canada. You rocked…literally. We like to mix things up at The Blogcademy and during our stop in Vancouver, we did something completely different and hosted our workshop at a recording studio. It definitely had its perks including dramatic lighting, a cushy leather couch, a pool table and…bongos. Who knew that playing bongos was so fun?! Needless to say, it was like a party up in there.
In class, we pull back the curtain and show you what it’s really like behind the scenes as a blogger. It’s important to keep it real because there’s a lot of hard work that goes on that your audience rarely sees. Too often, they only encounter the seemingly effortless finished product. The truth is, those blog posts rarely come easily…and the outtakes tell more of the story. Thanks to Gala and Alicia for helping me with my vision here!
Like I said, dramatic lighting. Perfect for a day of deep thinking and bonding.
Every attendee receives a copy of our workbook…which just got updated for the seemingly millionth time. Blogging is always in a state of motion and things change fast. We’re always striving to give you the most up to date information so you can hit the ground running and build a business that you love.
A recording studio staple: lush velvet curtains. So dramatic and moody!
Those bongos sure got a workout!
I love standing back and watching connections being made.
This was a fun conversation…we picked out new brand colors on the spot. Since so many of my clients with Branch are remote, it’s cool being able to give branding advice in the moment and implement it right away.
The goodie bags were such an awesome mix this time around — they featured Friendship bracelets from Abacus Row, How to take the best selfie book by Sarah Sloboda, hand drawn cards from Purple and Blue Design Studio, awesome colour dipped pencils and felt notebooks from Moxie Makery, kitschy knitted cacti from Cacti You Can Cuddle, fantastic organic cosmetics from Aquacures, jewellery from Eclectic Eccentricity, Aroha Silhouettes and Wwillthebeast and finally, a pair of glittery ears from Crown and Glory!
No class is complete without the group photo. In Vancouver, we mixed it up with some pinwheels!
And in Calgary, we posed in front of this great building across the street from our venue.
Our graduation is way more fun than what I recall from my school days — we crank up some fun tunes, give away prizes and hand out report cards that are customized for each city!
And…that’s a wrap! We have just a few classes left this year — join us in person in New York (almost sold out), Washington, D.C. (our last U.S. class of the year), Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. Or, learn from home with our self-paced Home School modules. The choice is yours!
Thanks for joining me on this Canadian adventure. Have an awesome week, everyone!
