Happy 4th of July! It’s beautiful outside and I’m hoping to wrap up work early and spend the afternoon with family. Speaking of family, I took the afternoon off yesterday to meet my grandparents for lunch. Can you believe that they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary?! They’re two of my favorite people on the planet and my grandma always used to wear this sweater. When I mentioned how much I liked it a few years back, she gave it to me. I love it, stains and all!

Over the weekend, Joey, Rocky and I headed up to the Rose Garden. Though I’ve been there many times, I’ve never seen it this time of year — there were blooming roses in every direction and it was so beautiful. If you’re visiting Portland soon, this is a must-see spot!

I just got a new dress for my upcoming Europe trip. I love super graphic clothes in classic shapes and feel like I’ll still be wearing this exact dress in 20 years. You can see a full length shot here.

I wanted to hang around the Rose Gardens all day…but Rocky was understandably grumpy after an hour. 😉

Have a great 4th, everyone! Rest up, relax and I’ll see you back here on Monday.

I hear ya about the rose gardens! We went to the rose gardens in San Diego and I literally spent an hour and a half just enjoying the beauty, the smell, and taking pictures of course 😀

Teri Hofford: That is awesome that they have rose gardens in San Diego, too. San Diego is on my must-visit list. I’ve heard only great things about it!

kat — rocknrollbride: Can’t go wrong with stripes! I try to stick with dresses vs. skirts because you just zip up and go. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeeezy as you’d say! Ha!

You took Rocky to a Rose Garden, I took Pepper to the beach. Where she ran in and out of the water and barked at fish in the water. She swam too! Crazy for a short dog!
