It’s so good to be home! Waking up to a fresh cup of coffee made by Joey every morning, checking out the new food carts by my house, making weekend plans with my cousin Matt, catching up on episodes of Dr. Phil and chatting with clients back in my own zone are just a few of my favorite things. Oh, and let’s not forget about walking past the bathroom. It never gets old!
Thanks to my time spent in Canada I now l have a large chocolate coin, some pages from the Air Canada in-flight magazine, some very fancy sticky notes and some more Garance Doré notebooks (because I have a problem. Obviously). All these still lifes aren’t just for idle fun — I’ve been working out my ideas for a little course. More on that soon!
Canada, you know what’s up. Can I get a quick Amen?!
Calgary really surprised me. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting but places like Market were not on my radar. This restaurant was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had, hands-down. The food, drinks, decor and dessert were to die for and they even had a mini herb garden growing in front of the kitchen! Half of the restaurant was black, half was white — and as soon as the walls and floor switched to black, so did the chairs and napkins!
Oh, and don’t even get me started on Analog Coffee. Between this yellow espresso machine and the Nutella cookies, I was in love.
The true defining moment of my stay in Calgary, though were these sets of wax fangs we found at Freak Lunchbox. Did you have a pair as a kid, too? It had been a good 25 years since I slipped in a pair but it was just as fun as I’d hoped. For a split second, I proclaimed myself the unofficial Count Of Calgary. We laughed so hard we cried. And really, what better way is there to end a trip than with wax fangs in your mouth and tears of joy streaming down your face?!
Have a relaxing, beautiful weekend, everyone! And don’t forget to enter my giveaway for some chic new ballet flats! xo
