This week I felt like a big weight had been lifted with the launch of Blogcademy Home School. It was a looooong time coming.

I began redesigning the site five months ago and a few days after I handed off the files to Kat’s husband (he was the developer on this project — there’s no way we could have pulled it off without him), I was on a plane to Palm Springs, gearing up to film three video segments for our lessons. Once that was done, I came home, faced with turning all our notes and exercise into worksheets. The days, nights and weekends felt impossibly long — when jobs stretch on, it sometimes feels like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. But, there always is.

I could barely sleep Monday night as the anticipation for the launch built. We’d been planning out our marketing and all the nitty gritty details on the road in San Francisco and Chicago in between Kat and Gala hustling and booking all the venues for the rest of the year, not to mention all of our individual plane tickets and places to stay across three continents. I am terrible at it so I just focus on the creative and let them handle the hellish administrative stuff. Luckily, they don’t mind! Haha.

It felt surreal to send out our first ever press release on Tuesday, like a very grown-up thing to do. We’ve launched tours and things like that in the past but there’s always such a learning curve. It’s good to get those mistakes out of the way early on. This time, the hiccups were so minor that I couldn’t believe it. I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it again: it pays to surround yourself with good people that you can trust.

I feel like I just got home from Chicago but now I’m getting ready to head out to Canada on Thursday. I’m hanging onto my last few days around the house for awhile, enjoying my surroundings and time with Joey and Rocky. I always have this Avedon book sitting out in the living room. The eye on the cover is 3-D and winks at you!

While I’m toiling away, Rocky spends most of his time next to my desk catching up on his beauty sleep. It’s a tough life!

Have an awesome weekend, everyone! I’m hoping to hit the Schoolhouse sample sale in the morning, finish packing for Canada and wrap up my client’s book (which I am dyyyying to show you!) xoxo
