Hitting The Road Again! Next Up For The Blogcademy: San Francisco and Chicago!

The Blogcademy | Chicago

In just three weeks, the 2014 dates for The Blogcademy kick off and we’ll be heading off to San Francisco first, followed by Chicago the week after. I’ve never spent much time in San Francisco (unless you count a ton of layovers) and have never stepped foot in Chicago so it will be awesome to experience both cities with fresh eyes.

Between classes, I’ll have a few open days in each city to explore so if you know of anything that’s a must-see, please leave me a note in the comments!

Booking Details and About Us

If you need a quick refresher on what The Blogcademy is all about, it’s a two-day strategy-based workshop for bloggers and small business owners that want to take their online presence to the next level.

We cover subjects including content creation, networking (online and in-person), branding (building a brand from scratch and how to audit an existing one), social media, advertising, getting a book deal, writing for newspapers and magazines, using your blog to sell your own services and much, much more.

Each student also receives a report card with customized, actionable advice to apply to their very own websites, a 40+ page workbook and a tote bag emblazoned with their city. And chances are that you’ll make some really amazing new friends, too.

Basically, A LOT happens in just 16 hours! And better yet, we have an open Q&A at the end to answer anything else you can dream up.

If you want even more details about what we’re all about, please check out our overview.

Booking your ticket to any of our classes is easy -– just visit our registration page and sign up using PayPal. We offer a payment plan so you can choose to either pay the full amount upfront or you can pay in two installments. If you’d prefer to pay in even smaller increments, we can arrange that also. Get in touch at headmistresses @ theblogcademy.com and we’ll hook you up with all the details!

See you soon!

Hi! I lived in Chicago for 10 years and have some fun ideas for you gals. In no particular order-

    1) Beauty Bar-a glitterized bar where you can get a $10 martini and manicure.
    2) Allyu Spa-it is truly paradise
    3) Don’t bother going to the top of the Sears Tower or the John Hancock-instead, go to the Signature Lounge. It is a bar in the Hancock building right below the observation deck. Get a drink. It’ll be cheaper than paying for the Obv. Deck and you’ll have the same view.
    4) The Art Institute of Chicago is a must
    5) I’m a chocoholic-so, if you love your sweets don’t delay and head over to Teuscher in the 900 N Michigan shops. They’re Belle Epoche and Champagne Truffles with Dom are to die for!
    6) Karyn’s Raw-THE raw food vegan emporium. Get the Hemp dream cream. Thank me later.
    7) The Chicago Diner. A meat free institution with epic shakes, food, and sweets.
    8) The Everleigh for Wiggle Room, a burlesque show with stand-up comedy. It is the brain child of Michelle L’amour, my former Burlesque teacher. It is based off the famous Everleigh Club brothel <3
    9) Kiss Kiss Cabaret-if you're in the mood for more Burlesque
    10) Catch a midnight showing of Rocky Horror at the Music Box

    I could go on forever.

Howdy Shauna!! Oh, San Francisco is THE BEST! I love that city! A couple places that are must sees as far as I’m concerned are:

    Tartine Bakery. Pastry Heaven
Zeitgeist – the coolest (biker)bar EVER. (though they frown on photography)
Tyler Florence’s Wayfare Tavern (for the most awesome fried chicken EVER)
The Windy-est road in the world: Lombard Street
Bar Jules has some awesome burgers
Haight Street has some creepy & cool shops I know you’d love
Roli Roti. These guys have the best Porchetta Sandwich – I have dreams about it. It is, hands down, my favorite!
    Alcatraz was pretty cool!

I wrote some posts about it when I traveled there a few years ago. You can check here for the deets besides what is mentioned above! :-) Have fun! I’m jealous! Haha
