What I Wore: A Checkered Obsession

Stripes have always been my go-to pattern but lately, I’ve been having a checkered moment. While stripes are the ultimate classic, checkers have a little more pizzazz and I can’t get enough.

I found this checkered dress on a Zara sale rack in New York last summer (now sadly out of stock) and have since packed it with me from London to Australia. Belted and paired with heels, it becomes dressy. Loose and combined with a cardigan and boots, it becomes every day wearable.

In an ideal world, I’d also have my kitchen floor redone in a checkerboard pattern. This week while I’m in LA, visiting the brand new Ace Hotel downtown is at the top of my list — newly opened, it just happens to have checkered floors.

These are a few of my favorite checkered things: 1. Emily Shur. 2. Kate Spade. 3. Winter Bird Co. and 4. Wallpaper.

Have an awesome Monday! My stay in Palm Springs is coming to an end but this video will always remind me of what a truly great getaway it’s been.
