I feel like it’s hard to hit the brakes when you’re working with so many new clients and go back and share past projects. I just got my issue of Rock n Roll Bride Magazine in the mail so I finally took the time to shoot it for the Branch portfolio. It’s a start but I still have an archive of close to 10 projects to share including branding for a lipstick line, designs for a promotional print pieces, branding for a perfume line and more. It’s a lot to get out there so I’m trying to pace myself!

Joey was in LA for an art show over the weekend so Rocky and I spent a lot of time in the dining room shooting projects and blog posts. It’s the only all white room in our house (besides the guest room in the basement which I never properly showed you!) so I tend to like chilling out there. This corner is my favorite.

Yesterday was one of those perfect Portland Fall days. The sun was out, the leaves on all the trees were yellow and orange and the air was crisp. I invited my friend Alexandra Franzen out to the original Stumptown for a coffee date and it was super energizing (partially because of the conversations and partially because of the caffeine buzz!)

On the office front, it’s really important for me to feel a solid sense of organization, especially as I take on more clients and spend longer days there. I hate clutter, yet I felt like my desk was a war zone of notes, pens, business cards and…you get the point. I use trays in other parts of my house but it never occurred to me to use one on my desk. Now, everything I use is in this catchall tray tray. So much better!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. My mom is arriving in a few days and I’m slowly but surely packing for my Australian adventure in a week. Beyond excited. See you Monday!

Caroline Royce: I’m so glad you liked the magazine! And yes, it’s definitely more like a book. If I ever print a large run, I’m going with Kat’s printer!

I definitely need to get my own workspace organized. It doesn’t take long before all flat surfaces are once again covered with crap. Love the idea of a catch-all tray for the small stuff.

Alexandra Franzen: Hey, usually it’s me that’s eating something awkward and flinging biscotti dust to and fro. 😉 I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. Let’s have a bakery date next time at Roman Candle Bakery where the treats were from!

Hello there! I am a graphic design student and I love looking at your blog everytime you post. I was wondering what typeface you used for “This week in pictures”? It’s so homey! :) Thank you!

  3. you are making me desire fall days, pffft.

i have two itty bunny-head shaped trays on my desk i bought from target at easter 2 years in a row. they’re perfect for holding the awkward things that accumulate on your desk: lipgloss, nail files, hair bands…all hail the catchall trays!
