Another week down! I’m definitely feeling the calm before the storm. There are so many little things to knock out before I hit the road for two weeks — I am looking forward to spending next weekend in New York teaching with The Blogcademy and the following in Minneapolis (thanks for all your wonderful recommendations, by the way. They’ve been immensely helpful!) Judging from past trips, I’m never quite prepared and end up lugging loads of work with me on the road. I’m determined to change my ways and make this time around different. I want to soak up every moment with my friends in one of my favorite cities and really, really take it all in.
Last night wasn’t about work though…I spent a few hours out on the back patio of the Doug Fir with my friend Joey, indulging in comfort food and catching up on life.
I’m working on more projects than I thought humanly possible right now but it’s all stuff I am very much enjoying. I’ll talk about it all soon. I’m stockpiling everything as it wraps right now in preparation for another project but once that launches, it will all flow out. Sorry for being so cryptic!
I spotted this perfectly restored minty VW Bug a few days ago and swooned. I’m pretty practical when it comes to an everyday vehicle but someday it would be awesome to have a few classics. My dad has a garage full of classic cars and his enthusiasm has rubbed off on me over the years!
The one place I find solace in no matter what is thankfully close to home: my back yard. I’ll be doing the full reveal soon — each weekend, Joey chips away and we’re already beginning to enjoy it. I’m glad I married a guy who enjoys yard work because that’s not on my list of attributes at all.
I love this little sticker on my Zara order that just showed up. Inspiration is everywhere. Always.
In other news, I finally, finally got a haircut (it had seriously been at least 6 months since my last) and if you’re in S.E. Portland, check out Salon Mojo! The name is rad, the decor is cool and the ladies that run it are super fun. My haircutter Rachel was amazing and I’m not afraid of haircuts anymore. 😉
I hope you have a relaxing weekend — I’m hoping to see my dad and grandpa for Father’s Day in between packing and projects. Do you have any Father’s Day plans?
