The “I need to do everything in my power not to be poor” was very inspiring and thought provoking. Really made me look at my life from the past forward to see what shaped and influenced me. I lived a far more sheltered life compared to the writer, but there were still those moments where you look and see that A-HA! moment.

Melinda: It actually made me realize the same thing and that’s part of the reason why I posted it. My childhood was far from perfect as well (though it could never compare to the author’s) and it made me think about the things that still seep into my everyday adulthood.
