How was your week? Getting all settled into your routines?

I’ve been running around like a crazy person trying to catch up on projects and emails before leaving for London next Wednesday. I’m a big fan of working hard and playing hard — and if I want to play hard, there’s some serious work to get done! I can’t believe that London Blogcademy is so soon — our workbooks showed up and I’m slowly realizing I’m going to have little room left in my suitcase for clothes and shoes. ;) We’ve also been lining up some fun stuff for Portland & LA that we’ll be sharing soon.

As much as I enjoy a good dose of the avant grade and even occasional maximalism, sometimes I want that feeling of a clean slate. Simple lines, minimal shapes and very little color. A simple outfit paired clean surroundings and a clear mind — that’s what I want right now.

I spotted this type-covered wall on the side of Southland up on N.W. 23rd and had to share. So awesome!

I’d forgotten about these promo cards I designed for the Solestruck Portland store until I walked in and saw a stack of them sitting there! I instagrammed ‘em over break but forgot to share the finished product here. Shoes and obsession…I can relate to that. A little too well!

I remember falling in love with this dreamy chunky sweater when I walked into Topshop but cringing when I saw the price tag. But now going on 3 years strong, it’s a staple in my cold weather arsenal. Some things in life are worth the splurge I’ve learned. It’s all about being selective. Quality over quantity always.

Joey & I took Rocky on a walk through Ladd’s (Portland’s oldest neighborhood) over the weekend and I swoon every time I see this house. It’s like a modern castle, huh?

There’s been lots and lots of mood boarding going on this week. Someone on Twitter asked me what I thought of them because we all know how frivolous they sometimes seem. I think they have their place — as long as there’s a purpose for why you’re putting them together (to help your client visualize their ideal customer, to help them “see” their competition, etc.) I think they’re a totally valid tool.

And with that, I’m off. I’ve got some serious packing Tetris to do and an inbox to conquer.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
