Welcome to The Week In Pictures! It’s been one of those challenging yet exciting weeks — I wrapped up The Blogcademy magazine last weekend and once Kat, Gala and I were satisfied with the design, I sent it off and we got a proof mid-week. Feeling relieved that overall, everything was good, we ordered copies for all our students and they showed up last night. So exciting to see the articles and activities we planned over the last few weeks finally in print!
Here are some more details. As of now, these magazines are for students only because they feature a lot of prompts and activities specific to the class but the demand from non-attendees has been overwhelmingly positive as well (thank you to everyone who has left us messages!) so we are talking about a solution — maybe a special quarterly newsletter?
For my birthday, my dad gave me a Forever 21 gift card (yes, he’s awesome) and I wasted no time running off to the mall the following weekend. I ended up snapping up a pile of faux-fancy new jewels, most notably this stack of studded bangles. I bought these in-store but I was able to track down a few online if you’re interested: the Bold Colorblocked Triangle Bracelet and the Contrast Geo Bracelet.
Rocky has this little friend Raleigh. Ever since I met Joey, I’d heard about this dog — that he was really sweet and liked to give hugs. That he had rows of snaggle teeth and resembled a little wolf man. Well, this weekend I finally got to meet Raleigh and just look at that little face! I couldn’t get enough of him…I want a little wolf man of my own!
The one thing you can’t deny about Portland is that it’s full of weird vintage treasures. I wandered into this completely insane vintage store and well, I was pretty amazed by this pierced masterpiece. And this was just the tip of the iceberg. I was transported to another universe where sequins, lamé, cat-printed swimsuits and the like were the norm. I didn’t want to leave.
To break up my coffee routine, I’ve been reaching for tea more often. I tend to like sweet, fragrant, fruity teas and my current favorite is Passion by Tazo. Any others you’d recommend?
Have a great weekend, everyone! Just a heads-up that things will be quiet around these parts next week as I finish prepping for The Blogcademy.
