What I Wore: 10.1.12 // Hello, Fall

What I Wore Fall

Fall is definitely in there air here in Portland and this is my go-to look to start off the season. I was looking for a sweater I could throw over my basics (often a black dress and opaque tights this time of year) and this cardigan by Staring At Stars has turned out to be a great transition into this time where it’s too warm for a heavy coat but too cool for bare arms.

What I Wore Fall

I Wore:

Staring At Stars ‘Array’ Cardigan (these are the available colors — my black & white version is sold out), Urban Outfitters
Vintage Silk Shift Dress, Buffalo Exchange
Tights, H&M
Belt, Forever 21
All Bracelets, Forever 21
Wedges, Dries Van Noten
Bag, Versus
Nail Polish, Pop

What I Wore Fall

I’ve had these Dries van Noten wedges now for four years and I still love the silhouette — they were an early take on the sneaker wedge trend and I remember how outlandish people thought they were just a few years ago!

What I Wore Fall

In other news, I just returned from Palm Springs last night where it’s still pushing 100+ degrees and am just glad to be home after spending half of Sunday stuck in the airport after multiple delays (I sprinted though the SF airport last night and still barely made my flight. Eek!) I’m playing catch-up big time and also feeling under the weather after a very full weekend so it will be a bit slow around these parts for the next few days. I hope your week is off to a great start!

Melinda: I hope there’s some left! The sweater seems to be sold out online but I’ve heard there’s a few floating around the stores…

I absolutely LOVE that cardigan you’re wearing! ps it was so, so great meeting you this weekend. I’ll definitely be in touch when we visit portland!

Vanessa: I love you, it was awesome catching up with you those handful of times! And yes, get in touch when you’re in town – I have a feeling you’l love it here.

Melissa Dominic: It doesn’t cool down too much there, does it? Probably just to a more manageable temperature? I’ve been to Florida even in November and it’s still soooo nice.

You look wonderful, and the sweater pattern is magnificent. I love how fashion recycles itself, especially high end pieces. Even if you work those a few years ago I’d still dig them because they’re not too ostentatious and in your face, but you can tell the wedges are of great quality. I hope you feel ‘over the weather’ soon.

I love the wedges! You turned me onto wedges about a year ago and, finally, I feel like I can wear them. I’m so tall, I’d avoided tall shoes until it dawned on me: height doesn’t matter, while beautiful shoes that I love definitely do :) . Lookin’ good!

Miss P: Awesome! I’m glad you’re feeling more confident. In reality, most girls including me would kill to gain a few inches in the heigh department…own it!
