The third and final scene in our Santa Monica adventure with Made U Look took place at the iconic Santa Monica Pier. Between the beach, arcade, food stands, rides and playground, there’s a lot going on and it was unsurprisingly packed. The sun getting close to setting for the day so instead of changing, Gala and I made a quick beeline from the canary yellow library to the beach (about a five minute walk).

We had just been on the pier that morning eating yogurt and riding bikes (how Californian of us!) but by this time, the level of excitement was much higher as we weaved our way through the crowds towards the rides.

I didn’t say anything at the time but I definitely have a fear of heights. We all piled into the massive ferris wheel which bobbed back and forth with the wind as it climbed higher and higher into the sky. Pretty soon, we the crowds resembled ants and we took in the pier and seemingly never-ending beaches below. I am so glad I did it!

Wherever we go, we have a good time. Vegas, Iceland, Paris…It’s always an adventure.

Gala couldn’t get enough of her favorite new vintage dress, a gift from our friend Mary Bee.

Once we were back on land, we made our way to the lookout area along the pier. Looking out to the ocean made me feel like we were in a movie scene: it was overcast and foggy yet so beautiful.

As I mentioned before, Made U Look uses almost all film and had snapped some instant shots as well. Can you tell how much fun we’re having?!

Finally, as the sun was setting, we hit the swings. As adults, it seems harder than ever to just take time out to do things like this. We lived up every second and as you can see, we weren’t the only adults taking advantage of them!

Gala and I took in the beach one last time…

Thanks so much to the incredibly talented Made U Look trio (only two of the babes are shown — someone had to take the photo!) for making this a trip I’ll never forget. P.S. In case you missed them, here are installments one and two.
