How was your week? Mine had some definite bright spots — whenever I spot a photo booth, I ask my grandma to climb in…and she’s always up for it! Yes, I’m giving her bunny ears in that first photo! I love it that my dad, his girlfriend, my grandparents and I still go out as a group every few weeks. Family time is the best time. Go out and have some fun…work will still be waiting when you’re finished!

I’m hard at work on a D.I.Y. project that will debut here in a few weeks and thought it would be cool to ‘pin’ my inspiration to a real life cork board. Non-internet inspiration boards are so much more fun to put together anyway!

I was flipping through Contemporary Graphic Design by Phaidon (can’t seem to find a link online) the other night and this image caught my attention. The whole book is really, really great.

Rocky just got his summer haircut. What a tough guy. Look at those little teeth! I get a lot of questions about his breed — he’s a Chinese Crested but while most are hairless, he’s a powderpuff.

No matter what I have going on or what I have due, I always try to take in my surroundings, even if I’m walking down the same sidewalk every day. There’s beauty in the details and in the smallest moments. I love the old Pacific Wonderland Oregon plates.

I’ve been rockin’ my new go-to sneakers all week. This photo was taken in our back yard…which is coming along much slower than expected. Isn’t that always true of house-related projects?!! Happy Friday and I hope you have a chance to kick back and enjoy the sun. Any fun weekend plans?

  1. I love family time – it is my fave time! me and my mom and my cousin went to the Zoo last weekend! Haha! Even though we got rained on, it was awesome. I hadn’t been there since me and the gf went last year! (a once a year zoo trip is actually a nice thing to set into place, i think).

I also got my driving permit this week, ack! One step in the major process~ I also decided I would buy myself a nice pair of shoes once I finally get it all done (motivation?) – Don’t think those sweet woodsole ones I was oggling on your page the other day aren’t on the list, haha!

This weekend though? Art shows! Birthday Parties! I’m going to be social! Wahoo! Hope yours is niiice!

melissa dominic: The zoo is such a different experience as an adult, huh? And congrats on the driving permit — it gets easier from there, promise! Good for you so settin’ those goals.

The photo of Rocky is fantastic. He looks like he sings in a grunge band.

I’m going blueberry picking with a friend this weekend, then a bridal shower and hopefully some beach time. Yaaayyy summerrrr

    • Nubby says:

Francine: Rocky definitely has the look down – he’d be a drummer, just like his dad. ;) Ahhh, the beach. We’re hoping to head down to the Oregon Coast in the next few weeks…definitely isn’t summer without at least one beach trip.

Okay, not to sound totally cray-cray, but because you post pictures of your lovely grandparents all the time, I’d like to see pictures of them when they were young. Like your age…I have a sneaking suspicion that you and your Grandma look a lot alike! I’m just curious to see for reals… :D xo

    • Nubby says:

Lola: You are completely right! My grandma and I look really similar and I’ve heard that from family all my life — there’s one photo in particular I’ll have to get ahold of and share. I only hope I can age as gracefully as her…she’s been through SO much in her life and is still one tough cookie.

those pacific wonderland plates are actually a new limited edition plate, and not vintage. you can replace the regular oregon plates with them but they cost extra.
