As I was walking to lunch with my friend Pam on a perfect Spring afternoon yesterday, we spotted this cherry red motorcycle with sidecar. Very tempting to take for a spin, huh?

My new favorite shoes remind me of dying easter eggs as a kid. Fun!

Last Friday, I stopped by Nemo to see the Boxes of Death 3D show featuring 50 artists and 50 coffins. There was so much awesome work lining the hallway but honestly, I barely got a glimpse of most of it because the place was packed with what seemed like a few hundred folks. One of the best turnouts for an art show I’ve ever seen! So nice to run into so many old friends.

My desktop looked like this for most of the week. Paris is definitely on my brain big time.

I love this sign so much, it always makes me smile. I’m pretty sure it’s for the crepe cart on 12th and Hawthorne. Anyone know for sure?

Over the weekend, Joey and I started researching and shopping for plants to finally pull our back yard together (you saw the path he just put in last week). He had his heart set on finding a palm tree and we finally tracked down the particular kind he wanted (we passed on the dwarfed one).

I can always appreciate a good Eames! Feeling excited about a bunch of projects I’m a part of and looking forward to my mom coming to visit in two weeks. Good times.

Caroline Royce: That sounds so cool! Some of my favorite art shows have been poster-related. Minneapolis has so many great designers, too.

Diana Henao: Ahhh, that is so awesome. What a great way to spend your weekend! I took four years of German in high school and looking back, wish I’d dabbled in French. I guess it’s never too late to learn?

Nothing ever quite rivals the beauty and simplicity/complexity of an Eiffel chair. Insert wistful sigh. When I can afford it, one of those bad boys’ll be my first “big girl” furniture purchases. Until then, I’ll keep lusting from afar. ;)

    Happy weekend, Nubby! :)

Eeek, that scooter and sidecar are amazing. One of my favorite Portland memories is sitting at a cafe downtown and seeing a guy riding a motorcycle with a sidecar with a big dog in it. Best sidecar use ever!

This weekend my husband’s mom (feels weird to call her my mother-in-law, though I guess she is) is visiting, so we’ll be showing her the sights around town. We’ll probably take her to a farmer’s market and go to Hawthorne or Mississippi and wander around. The weather’s supposed to be nice, so it should be a good weekend for it.

    Have a great weekend!

Rachel: You picked two of my favorite areas to take visitors and by the look of things out my window, it’s a perfect day to hit a farmer’s market. Fun!

Your week sounds like it was a good one! The first shot looks like it was taken in my ‘hood. And what a lovely city to have on your brain! I lived in Paris many years ago, but I will never forget the experience. BTW, I have a friend who took Beginning French at PCC and she really enjoyed it.

This weekend has been spent working on the yard, editing photos from the week’s shoots and making granola. Happy Sunday!

ronitphoto: The top photo was taken in S.E. And, that is awesome that you got to live in Paris! I’ve only been once for a few days but it was definitely life changing. Also, thanks for the recommendation for French classes.
