When I came home last night and flipped through the April 2012 issue of W, this type layout caught my eye. I think it has the perfect amount of attitude to complement Karlie Kloss while still remaining sleek and editorial. View the rest of The Typofiles here.

Vanessa says: I’ve been enjoying some of the smaller run magazines that have come out recently. Kinfolk magazine and the Atlas Quarterly are two that I’ve really enjoyed!
Vanessa: I’ve seen Kinfolk online and love the beauty in simplicity they employ with their layouts. Gonna dig around to see if I can find a copy locally. Let me know if you discover anywhere carrying it!

Allison: Thanks for the suggestion – I’m a big fan of Uppercase and the artists / authors they promote but have never purchased a copy of their mag. Love their aesthetic, adding to my list.

My constant favourite is DANSK magazine. The design is strong and they’re not afraid of reinventing their look every year or so.
