That perfectionist blog writer post was hugely inspirational! I was given a most disrespectful comment on my blog that questioned my teaching ablities because I was a teacher who couldn’t grasp grammar. That was a painful moment for me and that perfectionist personality came out. Maybe I just need to relax and deal with what comes. My grammar may not be perfect, but I know I’m a truly effective teacher if most of my on-level students from last year are in an upper-level or AP classes for history this year, and they always thank me for making them interested in history. Grammar or no Grammar :-p

Melinda: That is just ridiculous! Teachers aren’t superhuman! None of us are perfect. For someone to hold you to a lofty standard just because you’re a teacher is downright silly. Teachers all have their strengths and there’s no point in being a jack-of-all-tades, master of none. Haters are gonna hate, don’t let one comment from someone who probably doesn’t even know you get you down. Your personality shines through in the comments you’ve left here and I’d rather have an enthusiastic teacher with less-than-perfect grammar than an uptight scholar that won’t even crack a smile! Keep doing what you’re doing. :)

  2. Loved this round-up – fantastic links! That’s the first time I’ve seen Alexis Traina’s blog and I was thinking “Isn’t she Danielle Steel’s daughter?” (she isn’t but it appears there’s a family link – her husband’s Dad was married to Danielle). Love that she didn’t even mention that, so refreshing in the world of internet bragginess! x

Rach: Yes, there’s a family connection but she doesn’t play it up. I found the interview really refreshing because it wasn’t like a journalist interviewing a celebrity, it was really down-to-earth and honest. Danielle just seems to work really hard and then enjoy the life she’s earned in her downtime. What a great woman!
