What I Wore: 12.27.11 // Desert Sunset

During the last week of December while I was in Phoenix, my brother and I took a mini hike off the side of the road and walked down a rocky trail to a trio of large boulders for some photos. Even though there are a handful of housing developments scattered about, this area (about 40 minutes outside of downtown Phoenix) is still fairly wild and untouched. During our walks, it wasn’t uncommon to see coyotes and road runners. Luckily, we didn’t have any run-ins with wild animals while these photos were being taken. Still, my brother wasn’t fazed by asking me to climb up on massive rocks in 5 inch platform boots. He really didn’t care if I broke my neck as long as he got the shot he was after. That’s what siblings are for!

Iris: It’s a brand called Pop Beauty Nail Glam and the quality is amazing. It wears and wears.

My hair is almost as long as yours! It’s the best thing in the world.
My current dilemma is whether to buy a flat iron for my locks or a pair of $300 Givenchy sunglasses. Oh the torture!!! Help me decide, Nubs! xo

Lola: Sunglasses can get lost or broken easily and there goes $300.00…so many places offer inexpensive options that look great! On the other hand, a flat iron can make you feel like a million bucks and is something that you can use every single day to add that extra bit of polish to your look. So, there you go. I vote for the flat iron! You’re so cute.

I used to grow cacti when I was kid. Call me geeky, but those cacti are amazing. Trouble is, I’m British and you just don’t them like that here…

It’s Carmen: Thank you! The outfit seemed appropriate for a desert sunset.
