New (used) design books from Amazon that arrived today. It’s like Christmas!

One of the highlights of my week was visiting the community college I graduated from three years ago to be interviewed by the Integrated Media department as a “student success story.” My former instructor took the photo of me above on set. At that moment, I felt like everything had come full-circle and the last few years of hard work had paid off. Thanks, Mt. Hood Community College!

Simon and Schuster just sent me a copy of Rev Jen’s new book, Elf Girl which features a photo of my feet(!) on the cover. It was designed by my friend Anna and the whole process has been pretty surreal — even more so because Joey and I spotted the book in the window of the Hawthorne location of Powell’s this weekend.

A view of my current workspace. The Swiss influence is always present.

On Saturday, I joined my brother for a little adventure to the antique show. Needless to say, I think we were the only patrons under 50. This beautiful old book of typography caught my attention…until I realized it was $250.00! We were probably most entertained by a booth of creepy vintage dolls.

Akira Chicago just sent over this awesome double zip linen jacket and I couldn’t be more happy. It adds just the right amount of edge to everyday outfits.

Nobody does a vanilla latte better than Stumptown. I joined my friend Pam for a design brainstorm this week which was a little too inspiring…and ended up lasting for three hours!!! I’m off to get some family-time in before getting started on a design-fueled weekend. Hope you enjoy yours!
