What I Wore: 8.14.11 // Sweetheart

During a few day stopover in New York back in February, I found this Sweetweart shirt on an impromptu raid of Forever 21 with Gala. Since then, I’ve been wearing it every chance I get, including an ill-conceived adventure to the annual brewfest along Portland’s waterfront a few weeks back where drunk patrons yelled “sweetheart” in my general direction on and off for a few hours straight. Lesson learned: never ever wear anything covered with big, bold type to public areas where a few thousand drunk people will be huddled!

On the days that I just don’t feel like dressing up, I reach for black jeans and a t-shirt. I have five pairs of these exact pants and with good reason; they have an ample amount of zippers. Both the ankles and pockets are equipped, adding a sense of sleekness to an everyday staple.

   I wear mine all the time, too, even though it’s (gasp) RED! You’re totally right about wearing bold type in public. I have a yellow t-shirt by Wildfox that says I NEED A TAXI & seeeriously, every time I wear it multiple dudes are like, “OH YEAH, where do you need to go baby, I’ll take you anywhere…” etc. etc. etc. >:[

     Gala: That’s way too funny….wearing an I NEED A TAXI shirt in New York is just asking for trouble! And red and pink look great together. I could see you accessorizing the hell out of your Sweetheart shirt with pink items.

   This is awkward. I’m wearing almost that exact shade of nail polish and the same watch as we speak. Gasp.
   That outfit looks super comfy by the way. You can never go wrong with black skinny jeans and a cute t-shirt.
