I’d been wanting this little jacket for months and months and after doing some design work for a dear friend, she gifted me with it. It’s not a color I’d normally be drawn to but when paired with black and white, it pops in a major way. I think I love it so much because the back has a slight tail and well, the whole thing reminds me of 90s-era Prince. And that’s something that I can get behind.

Weekend gear: this is what I wore around town this morning to run a few errands. Dimepiece t-shirt dress, H&M knit dress (underneath), H&M tights and Chloe booties.

As I was digging through the flat files in my office last night, I found a huge stash of print-outs from last year’s projects. Catalogs, lookbooks and a prototype of my personal media kit were in the mix. The colors and textures got me inspired to move forward with some new personal designs.

Over the weekend, Joey helped me with some Trippen ads for Solestruck. My interest in Trippen began last year when Bianca sent me a street fashion shot of a lady wearing the oddest soled shoes I’d ever seen. Since I worked at shoe stores all through college, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable at recognizing brands…but I couldn’t place these. She eventually figured it out and we both fell in love with their medieval / modern styling. Of course, Solestruck picked up the line and I finally have a pair of my own.

I’m going to take full advantage of my holiday weekend working on little projects around the house. See you Tuesday! xoxo

God, those Trippen shoes are W-I-L-D!!! So cool, though. Perfect for a gallery opening or something! Your hair looks beautiful by the way. I’m hankering for another Nubby beauty post soon! So what are you reading right now? I’m working on John Updike’s “Rabbit, Run” and it’s great so far! Have a great weekend! xo

  2. Nancee_art says:

You wear some of the most amazingly wonderful shoes. The black ones with the funny soles/heels have a Japanese – Geisha vibe going on.

Can’t wait to see what the site redesign looks like.

  3. Jess says:

Those shoes are insane, and the jacket looks perfect for you. I can’t believe that’s your “errand-running” outfit, mine would be a sweatshirt, tights and flip flops.

  4. Stacy says:

Your outfit may be casual, but it’ so much more chic than what I see some women wearing to run errands–oversized tee shirt, cargo shorts, flip flops (ick).

  5. i’m so digging your outfit here!

and those shoes. oh my gosh what are those shoes? oh my gosh i want to be prince arthur and wear those. my entire college lifestyle of reading medieval literature is now in a shoe. do want.

Lola: The Trippens are like nothing I’ve ever seen…and they’re surprisingly comfortable and bouncy! I just started reading Medium is the Massage(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Medium_Is_the_Massage) and it’s a pretty interesting read — I’m going to do a full review soon.

Nancee art: Yes, total Japanese geisha…crossed with medieval warrior?!!

Jolene Frances: How cool! I’m really holding out for a Pantone case…

Stacy: I am one of those people that feels really self conscious when completely dressed down. I don’t own flip-flops or most other ‘casual’ basics…but I’m probably just a weirdo.

Melissa Dominic: Ha, seriously the best comment!

Insomnia: I’m doing a big What I Wore post with it really soon!
