• I always enjoy reading about the daily routines of other designers and how they got to where they are in their careers. This interview with Jessica Hische is particularly good.

• I love Garance Dore’s recap of Coachella and Palm Springs.

• You MUST Check out Christian Gideon’s post, What if you lived at IKEA?

• Okay, I got a good laugh from the names of the kids starring in J. Crew’s Spring / Summer 2011 catalog. Normal names are sooo last century.

• This wine box garden is such a good idea! Perfect for those of us who want to garden but lack the space.

• I always love reading Cary Tennis. I know the answers but can’t respond fast enough is probably something that most of us can relate to.

• If we all did our banking at a rainbow bank, we’d be SO much happier. Guaranteed!

• A teacher decided to strip down for a naked stroll through an elementary school in Georgia. When cops asked why, he said that he’d reached a “new level of enlightenment” and “wanted everybody to be free now that his third eye was open.”

• Who knows how accurate this is but The Daily Beast has compiled the 20 most useless college degrees. Ouch!

• Emma Forrest has just written a memoir about what happened when her shrink died.

• Creatives, this is a must: getting comfortable with contracts.

My degree is on that list, but I’m not sweatin’ it. I’m confused as to why they’re useless, though.

Sarah: It’s true that no college degree, no matter how ‘in demand’ it is, guarantees a job. Much of the potential is more often than not linked to personality, drive and (unfortunately) who you know. You’re smart for not putting all of your eggs in one basket — because that’s the way of the world these days.

    • Nubby says:

gracie: I agree. I loved that interview also because she is so open about sharing her routine and her story — not many well-known designers are willing to go into that much detail.

I went to college with the teacher who strolled through the elementary school naked. He was the leader for my freshman orientation group back in 2000. So weird…
