Sweet Cheeks: Style With A Cause

Sweet Cheeks is a company that was founded by two-time Olympic medalist Hannah Teter. As a pro snowboarder, she has taken her notoriety and funneled a significant portion of personal time and energy into raising awareness for a variety of social causes.

When some old friends from local agency Nemo HQ approached me and asked me to design a site for Sweet Cheeks, I signed on immediately. I was inspired by the merging of style and social consciousness in an effort to help those in need.

What exactly is Sweet Cheeks? It’s a line of panties that Hannah and her friends promote with at least 40% of net proceeds of each sale going to Children International. Sweet Cheeks says that “It’s about gifting, in the name of peace, love, and posterior. Wearing a pair of panties never felt so good, so pair up today.” I couldn’t have said it better myself!

Development of the site was done by Nate of OK/No Way.

Bonjour from Paris!

Comment allez-vous? Gala and I have been having an absolute blast in the City of Love! Here are a few snapshots from the last few days. Enjoy!

Un. Traveling with your BFF is the best! Do it! It’s so nice keeping company with someone who wakes up at a similar hour and shares the same taste in hotel rooms, shopping and food. No stress!

Deux. Give the old classics a new spin. Let’s face it — Gala and I rarely ever play by the rules. Having a great time is paramount, especially when you’ve just traveled halfway across the world. We made the most of our time at the Eiffel Tower and strolling down the Champs-Élysées towards the Arc de Triomphe, shooting polaroids and even throwing on our matching Mickey Mouse ears for a few shots.

Trois. Nothing can beat the excitement of finally seeing the Eiffel Tower in person. Nothing.

Quatre. Nobody explained to me what an authentic espresso would taste like. Let’s be honest here — I am American, I am used to the flavor and consistency of Starbucks. On our first day in Paris, my face shriveled with just a sip. Ha!

Near Wall Street with Bianca, Saturday

Hello once again! Here’s what I’ve been up to during the last week. The Week in Pictures is a few days late because I was in-flight from New York to Paris for what felt like ages. But, let’s back up a few days. In true New York fashion, the second I arrived on Thursday night, everything felt like it was on fast forward. I am still wondering when New Yorkers find time to sleep! It was so great to catch up with friends, old and new, that very night.

On Friday, I wandered aimlessly, waved to our nation’s first president on the way to the subway and finally made my way to Soho. Oh, and I caved for a pair of leather shorts at Topshop that reminded me of modern lederhosen.

Mischa and Bianca

On Friday night, I was so excited to revisit my favorite bar in the East Village, Ella. The modern 50s era decor is immaculate and the band playing 50s Sinatra-style throwbacks was spot-on. What I love about New York is that you can walk a few blocks and be in a totally different scene. At a 50s rockabilly night at another bar, I sat at the edge of the room while perfectly styled twenty-somethings danced the night away in full skirts, red lips and curls. In contrast, I felt like a cyborg outcast in my head-to toe black, Rick Owens and zippers.

On Saturday morning, Bianca and I cabbed it over to the Meatpacking District to visit Bumble and Bumble and her friend, Mischa (hairstylist extraordinaire). The salon is so beyond amazing. Modern decor with a clinical element paired with a view to kill. What’s not to love?

An early afternoon all-you-can-drink champagne brunch turned into total mayhem; we knew it was time to clear out when a champagne flute was shattered. By the time I got back to Bianca’s apartment and repacked for Paris, there was a drunken dance-off taking place in the living room. I love New York.

Late Saturday night, Gala and I boarded a plane bound for Paris. That was an adventure in itself that I will tell you about someday soon. Until then, I’m off to wander the streets of Paris. xoxo!

Hello, hello!

It’s been an extraordinarily busy last few days as I first flew to New York and then repacked my bags and boarded another plane bound for Paris. But, let’s back up to New York. The moment after I arrived at Bianca’s place, we made our way out to a very dark and chilly Wall Street to shoot photos.

I have soooo much more to share with you! Hold tight though — posting will be less consistent over the next two weeks as Gala and I are busy traveling abroad. Bon Voyage!
