Performer Veronica Varlow is one of those rare women who seem to have it all — brains, beauty and the heart and soul that backs it all up. She is inspiring because against all odds, she still managed to find a way to live her dream. Her story is a fascinating one. Taken from her bio:
An unexpected twist of fate led Varlow to her life of international intrigue. After a harrowing attack by a rottwelier pushed her to make a serious life change, Veronica Varlow stepped out of the shadows and into the life she longed for. Since then, she has graced stages from Paris to Prague, from Berlin to Brussels, from Austria to Australia. This year marks her eighth world tour with musician Emilie Autumn. She was recently featured on an entire episode of MTV’s Emmy Award Winning Show, MADE for her inspiring story and cabaret artistry. In her spare time, she plots world domination.
We began this project nearly a year ago but when your client is busy touring the world and hopping from continent to continent, you’ve just gotta have patience! I remember when we began working on Veronica’s media kit last September — we met at a coffee shop in the East Village and she sauntered in, mid-afternoon, in a gorgeous leopard print wrap dress and perfectly applied red lipstick. Everywhere she goes, heads turn. And, she’s got impeccable manners and charm! Amazing.
My goal with Veronica’s media kit was to be professional yet playful. That’s a tough balance. I wanted to show off her class but I wanted potential clients to have fun when flipping through the pages. A palette of pinks, grays and black have a retro boudoir feel but still radiate that light-hearted spirit. The media kit is set up as an email-ready PDF and features single spreads.
I wanted the last page to be very simple and reminiscent of a vintage calling card. And, after you’ve seen all that Veronica can offer, you probably don’t need any more convincing. Thanks to Veronica for letting me share the outcome. Behind that gorgeous exterior is one of the sweetest women I know.
