To my American readers, I hope you had an awesome 4th of July! My days off were spent making multiple trips to Sears to buy new kitchen appliances (glamorous, I know). In the evening, we had a little BBQ in the backyard. Rocky is scared of fireworks so we stayed home and watched T.V. with him and then called it a night. What did you do? Any rooftop parties or camping trips or visits to the country with your friends to blow off your secret stash??

I Wore:

NY Times T-Shirt, Urban Outfitters
Silence & Noise Zipper Jeans, Urban Outfitters
Flower Headband, Forever 21
Miu Miu Heels (I think I got these in ’04), Ebay

All photos by Joey.

Love the jeans, Type and dog. Lovely post can a lazy geek ask what is the typeface?

I love the font that “Hot in the City” is written in…did you do that? My doggie is afraid of the fireworks, too. She was barkin’ and shakin’ all night, poor thing. I guess I’d be scared too if I didn’t know what that banging was! Rocky is so cute! He looks like he has little furry astronaut booties on! :-D

Looking hot Nubs! I love that you have used ‘Hannah’ – I have been lusting after that font for ages!

I love how the photos are turned into a story. I went to a friends house but all the fireworks were going on behind trees where we couldnt see wah!

love the posts…all of them. just caught up after being out of the country for the past 10 days. i spent most of the 4th traveling home to DC from Panama. luckily, i made it back in time to watch the fireworks from the roof of my building. they were amazing and extremely colorful this year!

I love this post. Joey is doing a fantastic job with your photos. He’s a natural artist.

nubby i have to ask about your photos, did you take these with your nikon p80? i remember ages ago you said that’s the camera you use, i’m on the market for a good point and shoot and your photos always look lovely, i like how the colours really pop. do you do much post editing before putting them online? i’ve been reading a few reviews on the coolpix p100 and a lot are saying the image quality isn’t as good as it should be, but the photos i see you post are of slr-like quality.

sorry about the 20 questions! i just want your input on whether i should seriously consider the p100. at the moment i’m leaning towards the canon powershot g11.

Q: It is called Hannah.

Lola: It is a typeface called Hannah. Poor dogs, I feel so bad for them! Rocky was shaking all night and trying to hide under my desk! Furry astronaut booties = YES!!

Kaz: My, what good eyes you have! :)

Megbot: Glad you at least caught some of the action!

Auntie Nubs: He’s so sweet and patient, too. And always willing to lay on the ground and get dirty in the name of a good photo. :)

Olive: I take all of the photos on my blog with the P80. I’ve had it for 2 years now and it’s still going strong besides a scratch on the lens (which is completely my fault). I do quite a bit of adjustments to my photos, mainly with preset actions. Though, I don’t sharpen anything — the clarity is fantastic.

I have always been a point-and-shoot girl…SLR cameras always felt like a bit much for me because I carry my camera everywhere I go and I didn’t want to fumble around with lenses, etc. This camera has some definite SLR type qualities while still having the ease of being a point and shoot. I highly recommend it as a good everyday camera. I’ve used Nikons since 2002 so I am a bit biased….but this has been super reliable.

NIKON LOVERS UNITE! I use a Nikon SJ210 and my clarity is awesome! Check out my Deviant account in the photography section. ANYWAY, I’ve always wanted a P80, but now that family is requesting me to take more photos for graduations, quinceneras, weddings and etc. (along with my hand made rosaries! yikes!) I need a better DSLR >.<

Love the font and the concept. I'm working on a shoot of my self dressed as a deer and setting the scenes to the song Have to Drive by Amanda Palmer.

Yay for creative fun summers! ^_^

Those photos are SICK! I adore the intense cerulean blue sky + sassy red pumps. Splendid.

Do you ever use the self-timer feature on your Nikon P80? I’m looking for a point-and-shoot camera that lets me take outfit photos / self-portraits, but I’m not sure I could scurry into place in the 10-second window that the P80 affords.

Happy belated Independence Day!

Rocky!! Oh I love him, but I have a Crested too so I’m terribly biased. Mine (Weetzie) is scared of fireworks too. They should have a little doggy marriage, they would be ridiculously adorable together!

Digging this post. Love the text between pics.

My 4th was just as glamorous as yours…numerous trips to Home Depot for mulch. LOL
Grilling with friends, wasn’t too shabby either.

I love your style, and I have been reading LOTS of fashion blogs recently! Yours just takes the ticket though. Aspirational.
