On Sunday, Joey, Rocky and I headed out of town for an overnight stay in Hood River. We didn’t do a whole lot or take many photos — instead, we just enjoyed escaping the city for a day. I loved some of the old signs around town. Rocky came along with us everywhere, even though he had to be carried like a baby and smuggled into a few places!

Served with Love

When we got home, Joey made us homemade popcorn on the stove. Served up in a heart-shaped bowl, of course.

Nice Menu

I totally admit to being drawn into ordering food based on the design of the menus. This one is from the Slingshot Lounge.

Key to the Content

Remember how I mentioned my new LaCie IamaKey USB drive a few weeks back? I decided to start wearing it as a necklace — that way, when I am making the rounds between multiple agencies and computers, I am always prepared. Though, maybe I look more like a latch key kid. ;)

The Shoes that Started it All

They keep me company in my office every day. My favorite thing that Michael Kors has ever designed! Now I wish that I had gotten all the weird colors they came in at the time.

Fiction

week in pictures

I’ve been a little incognito from the internet for the last week because I’ve been working with the Fiction team. Such a nice bunch of folks!

I’m gonna finish up this week, take some photos in the new pile of stuff that just showed up from Urban Outfitters, go out for a nice dinner and wrap up a couple of freelance projects. What about you? Got any big plans?

I have a set of heart-shaped measuring cups in pinks and reds that match that bowl perfectly!

My weekend? I’m going to a birthday party, prepping for the arrival of a new roommate, working a bit, and doing some sewing/writing/general fun stuff. :-D

    - Lettering a comic by [redacted] for [redacted].
    - more mixing on the album I’m releasing next week.
    - Working on Miss Agent Lover’s new website.
    - Maybe doing some recording/studio time if I can sneak in.
    - moving more of my stuff into my boyfriend’s house.

Always lovely you are, Ms. Twiglet! I’m making a music video with the band the Melismatics (in collaboration with my school in Minneapolis, of course). I can’t wait for the shoot tomorrow! The movie “Tron” is our inspiration….

This weekend is all play, no work! I’m getting away from the city for the weekend with some friends to a place called Cuernavaca. My friend has an extra house there so we’re just going to relax and go swimming. P.S. The black sweater you’re wearing with the USB necklace looks so cozy and warm!

  5. I flew to LA to surprise my pops for Father’s Day, so tonight I’m taking him out for a martini + burger at Father’s Office (it’s a bar, not a workspace).

Tomorrow, I’m going on a taco truck adventure with my beloved siblings. And then probably walking barefoot along the Pacific Ocean and staring at the oil rigs.

Sunday = a 4-hour opera. Followed by an opera coma.

I’ve had a weird week – made redundant on Wednesday along with a bunch of other people the auto company couldn’t afford to keep on, worked on some freelance projects for a couple of my own clients, announced redundancy on facebook and got an interesting offer, am really warming to the idea of full-time freelance though…Also started making a catalogue of all my car illustrations. Got about 300 pieces to catalogue, but I’m hooked on drawing cars now so there’ll probably be more to add soon, lol =)

That second photo reminds me a lot of a place called the Black Forest, which is just outside of Melbourne, very mountainous area, full of pine trees – it’s quite an eerie place in winter!

Amandalee: I know which ones you’re talking about! I am such a sucker for heart-shaped stuff in general….I hope your new roommate is a good one. ;)

Star: Amazed at how you somehow manage to live the lives of three people all rolled into one but a full, adventurous life is so much better than the alternative of an idle, dull one.

Lola: What fun project and a great way to spend your weekend! I am sure it will turn out super conceptual and cool with that kind of inspiration. :)

Sewon: Sometimes you gotta just break away from the grind and refresh. I’m envious! The sweater is new — by a brand called Mink Pink and I just found it on sale at Urban Outfitters.

Alexandra Franzen: How fun! I like the name of that place….though your entire weekend sounds pretty adventurous.

Genevieve: Sometimes, when one door closes, another opens. You put yourself out there on Facebook and just like that, an offer popped up! Your ‘catalog’ is a great place to start — having your own work all gathered and organized all in one place is really important because you never know what kind of opportunity will arise next.
