The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel…The Sprawl was a long strange way home over the Pacific now, and he was no console man, no cyberspace cowboy. — William Gibson, Neuromancer

Today, I picked up my gray nubuck Camilla Skovgaard wedges from Halo that I ordered many, many months ago. I’ve worn the black ones to death and this is basically my ‘summer’ version. If you want a pair, call Halo at 503.331.0366 to order – they’re over $50.00 cheaper than shopbop is listing!

I Wore:

Gray zip dress, Forever 21
Gray rayon scarf, Forever 21
Neon yellow slip, Forever 21
Gray suede wedge boots, Camilla Skovgaard
P-Series watch, Nixon

I have such a vivid memory of reading that opening line from Neuromancer,
and being so struck by it that I immediately turned to my best friend and read it
aloud to her. It’s still one of my favorite books. So visionary! A good pairing with
what you’re wearing, and the great industrial backdrop. I miss Halo! One of my favorite
pairs of boots ever came from there. It’s probably good we don’t have one in Austin,
or I’d be a lot broker!
xo,
Angeliska

Wow those grey wedges are gorgeous! And yellow + grey is always the best pairing.
Also; word is the the director of Splice will be making the movie of Neuromancer, pretty exciting! http://stupiditykills.tumblr.com/post/673041185/casting-neuromancer

That dress looks like a romper, which only makes me love it all the more.

Do you use a tripod + camera with a timer for your self-portraits, or does Auntie Nubs follow you around at all times, just in case a photo opportunity arises? :)

Angeliska: To be honest, I’ve never had a chance to read Neuromancer but I fell in love with that quote when I bought a fashion book about the 80s underground called Excess and the opening page has it printed….so amazing and descriptive and brilliant! And Halo is the absolute best – I gasped and handed over my credit card for my first ever pair of Dries van Noten boots when I was poor and in college a few years ago and they were so sweet to me. I just keep going back. And, their sale rack has the best finds! Come visit sometime!

Angel: HA! You caught me! Finally, my legs are free of punctuation!!!

Rose & Elle Sees: It’s funny because I’m not a yellow fan and most of the time I forget I have that slip….but I kind of want more in different colors to layer now.

The Photodiarist: Thanks so much! I always appreciate you taking the time to comment. :)

Auntie Nubs: He’s pretty great with composition considering that he’s never been into taking photos. I love the way he sees things. Thanks to you and him, my entire life is documented!

Hannah: Awesome! And gray + neons totally remind me of the future, in a post-apocalyptic sort of way.

Greta: Thanks so much! The sun was super intense and in my eyes the entire time so I am squinting / blinded in almost all of them…

Alexandra Franzen: Most of the time my boyfriend Joey is nice enough to take my outfit photos. And he’s super patient. A total keeper!

Daaaang… LOVE those shoes. Covet them sooo much. The Halo site doesn’t load anything on any of the pages. No shoes! :( Is it just me?

Sarah: They are redoing the site right now….I hope it gets finished soon so non-Portlanders can enjoy the amazing selection!
