• Principles of Minimalist Web Design is SO GOOD. I’ve never seen so many great examples of clean, well executed websites all in one place.
• A former model talks openly about her experiences and what it’s like to have your body critiqued on a near daily basis. “For as long as we can remember, we have been told that models need to be thin because sample sizes are small. Model agencies deny responsibility because designers want thin models. Designers blame the industry, whatever that means. Money is certainly an issue, because smaller sample sizes mean less fabric and less work. But the role of models themselves is not really discussed at all.”
• Starbucks owns Seattle’s Best Coffee and is now rolling it out into many fast food chains including Burger King. Due in part to its massive expansion, Seattle’s Best just underwent a major brand face lift. What do you think? For better or worse?

In part, she says, “Many have lamented the fact that so many blogs are being monetized, and they would prefer to see them remain free of advertising. I respect those individuals that blog without any form of payment, but I also have respect for those that have been able to be fairly compensated for the lovely sites that they have created. It takes a considerable amount of time, effort, and money to keep a blog like Making it Lovely going.” Right on.
