What I Wore: 5.8.10 // Wash & Wear

Today, we took a drive over to the neighborhood Portlanders affectionately refer to as Felony Flats and found a deserted laundromat that was frozen in the 70s.
I wore:
Cardigan, Field Flowers (Anthropologie)
Scarf, shorts & belt, F21
Boots, Dries van Noten
Purse, Miu Miu
Watch, Nixon

This is one of my favourite outfits ever! It’s such a great combination of so many ideas and textures, but it still works.

Aw, shucks. You just reminded me that I desperately need to do my laundry!
The best laundromat I ever visited was up on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota (the town of Tower, pop: 502). They had signs on the machines that read: {No coal, soot or oil grease, please}. Kinda clued you in on the local clientele!

Great photo shoot! I love the vintage-style laundry soap machine in the background and the 2-tone red boots are smashing.

Luinae: Thanks – patterns galore! I think my only saving grace was the combo of similar colors.
Frayfrisco: I’ll definitely check out your blog. Thanks for visiting!
Alexandra Franzen: Cutes signs – gotta keep those locals in line!
Wendy: I was in disbelief that a soap machine from that era was still intact. Amazing stuff.
Lola: Aww, you’re the sweetest! Thanks love! Joey took all the photos. He’s got a good eye for composition!
Elle Sees: I was a little nervous about taking over a laundromat but luckily no one was there to care!

We have that same soap machine in a laundromat in the Mission in SF….I’ve always loved it (but thought “Wow….way to save money on the shop updates!).
This is one of my top fave photos shoots of yours. I’m not even sure why….you look gorgeous and totally effortless. You have the makings of a fabulous Creative Director someday chica!

alix/galaxiegirl: I kind of love relics that are frozen in time like those soap dispensers…I love the sense of innocence and how iconic the stuff was back then. Thanks for the complement and I love your blog!
