Taken from a Lady Gaga feature a few months back, I never tire of Elle’s design aesthetic and art direction. You can view all of The Typofiles on Flickr here.

i never thought i would say this but i love the combination of serif and sans serif used here (normally i love my consistency). elle is such an underrated magazine here in australia — i think there used to be an australian version years and years ago but it was discontinued. i buy the us and uk ones whenever i can find them though.

They damn well better come up with good type for Gaga!

I have to say, it did look fabulous! ELLE has a knack for amazing art and design; thus the reason it is my absolute favorite magazine!! :)

Gorgeous, so pretty at the same time as been very graphic and kind of grungy. I love it.

olive: Agreed. They have a way with combining unlikely combinations of type and somehow make it work beautifully! I’ve never looked at the other versions but the U.S. one is by far my favorite monthly magazine. It NEVER disappoints.

WendyB: So true! Larger than life!
