My Cross to Bear

forever 21 necklace fashion nubby twiglet

My new favorite piece of jewelry is this multi-chain cross by Forever 21. It’s a total urbanized version of what my childhood idol, Mr. T would wear and maybe that’s why I love it so much!

Hahaha, I think it’s great that you were thinking of Mr. T when you got this necklace. No fool is pitying you– aw crap, ok that sucked.

It’s almost weird to see you without your signature red lipstick, but in a good way! Is that a pale lip color you’re sporting? if so, it’s lovely. :)

Charlene: I am wearing MAC Cherish lipstick. On a daily basis I don’t wear red very much because it takes too much upkeep. it’s more of a going out thing these days…

I love the style of cross necklaces. I am not religious so I always feel weird wearing them. In high school I had an over-sized goth style cross but I was going for more disrespectful-on-purpose and I like to think I’ve grown up since then. ;)

What typeface is “forever 21″ in? It’s really pretty. That graphic as a whole is rad, I love your style.

Looks amazing!

I love the aesthetic appeal of crosses, but would feel awkward wearing one myself because of the obvious religious links.

Janine: That’s funny…I don’t even think of the religious connotations when I wear crosses. I think that if I was wearing a rosary, it might be different. I’m not religious at all and I think that this necklace visually reads more as a fashion statement anyway. Sort of early 80s Madonna…

dara: Buttermilk! Seriously, that’s what the typeface is called. Heehee.

Becky: Though I’m not religious, I love crosses. My house is full of oversized crucifixes. I think my adorable Catholic grandma rubbed off on me. :)

Hi there. I clicked the link to the Forever 21 website to purchase this necklace, but the link doesn’t work. I also searched their website but can’t find it. Just wondering if you have an updated link for the piece? Thanks!

Ginger: If you don’t see it in the necklaces section (http://www.forever21.com/category.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=acc_necklace&Page=1)it’s probably sold out. Sorry!
