The Strange New World Of Bernard Fevre by Black Devil Disco Club is quite possibly my favorite album packaging of all time. Non-Format is based in Oslo, Norway and Minneapolis, USA and I love pretty much everything they put out. You can view all of The Typofiles on Flickr here.

Non-Format’s been my favourite studio for a while now. Their custom typefaces are absolutely amazing… PS Nubby I’m kinda against blogs but yours is the only one I read. Keep up the good stuff!

This is so good. Beautiful typography. Amazing use of a gradient. This is one of those things you see and immediately wish you’d thought of it first.

I love love LOVE how they incorporated the barcode! Barcodes can be so hard to work with from a design standpoint (as a book designer, I just slap it in the corner and call it a day), but they managed to totally embrace it and turn it into a design element. I’m in awe of the whole thing.

I agree with Tricia on the barcode comment. I really really love how they made it an interesting visual, rather than “just slap it in the corner” as we are so used to seeing. SO lovely.

Out of curiosity, what year was this made?

cmykinky: Click the link above. Non-Format!

Kiersten: So simple, so good, so perfect.

Jazzi M: You are too sweet! I hope to see you sometime this year! Jealous that Gala gets to see you asap….

cmykinky: I’m not sure of the year but I think it’s fairly recent.

for whatever reason, the one that always jumps out of my head as favorite record packaging is Jon Spencer Blues Explosion – Xtra Acme: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xtra-Acme_USA

I have used that as my jumping off point for so many projects, I can’t even tell you!
