The Typofiles #48: Elle February 2010 Calendar

I am so into the way Elle designed the monthly calendar for their February issue. You can never include too many hearts, that’s for sure. I am always in awe of how they break up the standard grid we’ve come to expect for a calendar. You can view all of The Typofiles on Flickr here.

What I really like about this design is that although there are so many components to this page, nothing seems too overwhelming. My eye instantly is drawn to the Fashion Week hearts– lovely!

I frickin’ love those hearts! Nubby, were you the one behind those stellar layouts? They’re so beautiful!

It’s a pleasure to look at, most of the styles are so dull these times.

my first reaction while scrolling down was “OMG Nubby designed for ELLE!!!” I’m still not at all comprehending how this isn’t your work… but beautiful, of course.

Nubby, by any chance, do you know the name of the font they used for the “2″, or a similar one?

Ooh, when my boyfriend was working in LA last week he saw a copy of the British version of Elle and said it had some amazing content that I would love. He decided to wait until he got back to the UK to get it for me so I’m expecting it this evening. Maybe I’ll get to see this in the flesh tonight… excitement!
