These Numbers Mean Business.

One of my agency friends contacted me last week, wondering if I would design a ’257′ for his five year old son who races go-karts. I stayed up past my bedtime to do an experimental first round. Though his dad is the coolest ever, I’m not sure if the weapons will make the cut in the end. Just say no to hand guns and brass knuckles, kids! Stay tuned for the outcome.

They’re great! i wouldn’t want guns on anything for my son either but I love the effect

Really cute! That kid is going to have the most badass go-kart of the track!

Makes me think of the Unilever logo but I’m bothered by how the icons are just chopped off, and I think your thoughts about the guns and such are right (in regards to a five-year old, at least); why include them, then?

Tiffany E: Yes, definitely sort of Unilever-ish. I still have a few other ideas I am going to try that are more race-inspired. I grew up with candy cigarettes, toy guns and nonstop WWF wrestling and I turned out fine (sort of). My friend has a great sense of humor and his son is a total badass!

Go Nubbs! I like the cool design. As for the gun…i don’t think the little boy will be paying THAT close attention. Plus i didn’t see the brass knuckles…

It’s a great design, but I see your point with the weapons, why not just switch the gun for a more stylised ray gun? (http://thepoptopshop.com/osc/images/AstroBoyRayGunBlue.JPG) and the brass knuckles for say, a boxing glove?

This is so cute! I know what you mean about growing up with WWF and Candy Cigarettes. Besides, what little boy doesn’t like playing cops and robbers?
