Happy Holidays to you and yours! How was your week? I traveled home from Phoenix, went out with a friend Monday night and spent most of the next three days in bed, feeling sick. Recovered, went to an amazing meeting yesterday and now I’m gearing up for a speaking engagement on Monday night. All is good once again. Keep the faith and just like that, the bad will pass!

Did I mention that I miss Phoenix a ton? I do, I do. If I had a pool here, it would be frozen solid.

Over the weekend, before I came home, I was whisked off to a salon for my first-ever facial. I didn’t know what to expect but it was pretty amazing. I’ve vowed to book one once a year from now on. I fell in love with this painting on the salon’s wall.

Goodbyes are hard. Luckily, I had my two aunts with me on the plane to keep me company. A few fashion magazines (and a quick nap later) and we were landing.

One of the few things I bought while in Phoenix were eight of these skull and crossbones buttons. I’m still trying to decide what to sew them onto…

There’s nothing like making plans on two separate nights for two separate occasions in the corner of the same bar. It seems like I’m always frequenting the same five places…

I have two new tubes of lipstick sitting on my desk, thanks to Lime Crime Makeup. Doe Deere sent over Retrofuturist, a classic, true red and Styletto, a super saturated matte black. I paired Retrofuturist with my new Blue Sorcery mineralize eyeshadow from MAC for a slightly overboard holiday look.

Enjoy your weekend!

HOW IRONIC.
My friend’s brother is such an amazing artist and drew a painted a face that look almost exactly like the artwork in #3, except his was black & white and closer up

Denya–the buttons are from a shop called Knitting In Scottsdale. Their website is http://www.knittinginscottsdale.com. They may not have the buttons on the website, but you could contact them to have them shipped.

Good luck!!

The Daydreamer: I am sure it’s just as amazing then!

Shay: If I ever have to get a job as a Christmas elf at the mall, you can be sure I will be rocking the Atacomas!!!

Rebecca: He sounds familiar…I will have to check him out.

Auntie Nubs: Thanks for linking that for me. Always doing all my dirty work!

That black lipstick looks beautiful, but I don’t think I’d be able to pull it off! I think you definitely could though, love the holiday look.

Those buttons are gorgeous, as is the “overdone” holiday makeup. I love it. Also, facials are one of the most amazing things in the world.

Hope you had a great end to your week and have an even better one next week!

Those buttons are fantastic Nubby! I want too. http://www.knittinginscottsdale.net/

I love pic number 6 – kind of a bokeh effect. Nice.

Have you tried red lipstick over black? It’s different and could be better against your fair skin than just black. Kind of a dark cherry look.

Yay Phoenix again! I know what you should do with the buttons. I have a red and white striped cardigan that has anchor buttons on it. I always get compliments when I wear it.

Love that painting… and the black lipstick is HOT.
