The Week In Pictures: 12.11.09

Welcome to another Week in Pictures! I spent the week in Phoenix doing some hiking through idyllic cactus-covered mountainsides, did some major shoe-stalking at Barneys, bonded with my mom and two aunts, ate the best Mexican food ever, had a mini shopping spree at Forever 21, checked out the type choices on exotic liquor bottles at the grocery store, enjoyed my first-ever lobster, lounged by the pool, walked up roads to nowhere and perhaps best of all…gladly escaped the below freezing temperatures of Portland. Thank you to Auntie Nubs for taking most of the below photos.

Phoenix, I will miss you and your sunshine-y ways! Until we meet again,

Both pictures showing the hat are extraordinary!

Nubby, Weird question… How did you start wearing heels? I own several pairs, but i feel like a kid dressing up whenever i try and wear them out in public. It probably doesnt help that none of my friends wear heels, so feel a bit odd and overdressed. Im not living a glam life, and feel a bit out of place wearing heels to the post office, mall, out to lunch.
Any thoughts/ideas/advice would be very much appreciated!

Oh my GOD those boots you tried on are goooorgeous. Pheonix sounds so nice right now, it’s even kind of yucky here in Austin.

1. That pool shot is amazing.
2. What is the name of the Mexican place you ate?
3. Those Prozena Schoulers look great on your foot. Was it hard to say goodbye?

Did you go to Fashion Square Mall [it doesn't really look like it but I thought I'd ask]? It seriously has the biggest Forever 21 I’ve ever seen, and it just opened and is GLORIOUS.

Nubby, please tell us you got those Prozena Schoulers. They are to die for!

Looks like a fantastic week with some great photos. Loving your nail polish and various pairs of shoes!

eva: I think it depends on what you wear the heels with. I usually don’t wear stilettos which can look overdone during the day. I stick with platforms or wedges and pair them with pants or simple silhouettes so I don’t look like I’m wearing a costume to the post office! Start by pairing a lower pair of heels with basic jeans and once you’re comfortable with that, work your way up!
Jazzi M: I miss you and LA! I was showing everyone here in Phoenix our Disneyland photos from earlier this year….
Natalie / Fashion Intel: I think it was El Encanto Dos? So so sooooo good! And the Proenza Schoulers were quite painful to wave goodbye to that day…but I may end up with them after all!
bri: Yes! Fashion Square is awesome! I love the Forever 21 there. It has the very best of the best merch on top of a separate accessories store.
Kennedy: It’s a surprise! Oh, the suspense!

that second to last one of you in the hat is AWESOME!

You remind me of a girl in a Tarantino film, particularly in the shots by the pool. Absolutely breathtaking.

I enjoy your blog so much and have reading for over a year, I think. Out of the hundreds of photos, the hat picture (second to the last) is my all-time favorite. I love the texture of the hat, shirt and concrete(?) in one shot. Beautiful.
