I loved the first issue but I don't like that you have to spen $40 in order to receive a copy. I think there should be a subscription, like Delias or Alloy, or maybe sold in stores for a cover price or what not. In reference to all the other responces...I think it was magazine opinions...not who could afford it or sweat shops. Anyways, I loved the magazine and kind of wish it came more often and had more info.

I just popped by because i came across this article through an "indie fashion" blog exchange and was wondering if you had read anything similar to their take on Forever 21.

Apparently it is not an opinion, but fact, that Forever 21 is absolutely one of the worst "clothing giants" around. They use cheap labor hiring people at $6 an hour and forcing them to work in a factory with no running water (no bathroom) among other things. THey have had various law suits and even a documentary created about their horrible working conditions - and thats just in the US!! THey have a bunch of 3rd party factories outside of the US as well

I'd like to see how you feel about F21 after reading an article like this:
http://www.39thandbroadway.com/hate-21/

I know that you LOVE fashion, but you do have some high end pieces as well.. So i just wonder where that lands you. Personally, I dont have the money to purchase more expensive fashionable pieces, so i think i will be making my own stuff myself. Buy the structure at walmart, tailor it to actually FIT me and then create something awesome.. What about you?

But surely it only "affordable" because your ripping someone else off??!
Ie, using slave labour....Forever 21 are FAMOUS (we dont even hav one in this country) for using sweat shops to churn out"fast fashion"
Im all for affordable clothes but i dont believe you should step on anyone else to get cheap (and frankly genric) clothing. So much of what they do is "basic's" - plain clothes, racer back tops, hoodies. you can find all that stuff in a second hand shop quite easily. I mean, lets be honest now...none of us reading this probably *need* any new clothes, i don't mean we might not have the seasons latest trends and need to get our style in check, i mean, we have someclothes so we dont have to walk around with a belted in potatoe sack.
Our clothes haven't been swept away in a hurricane, they will keep us dry and warm as we go about our business.
No body *needs* to by clothes made by slaves, we're falling over rubbish in this part of the world. Charity/thirft shops exisit. so dose ebay.
so dose etsy.

If anyone thinks im exaggerating by calling third world labour slave labour, unfortunately not.
They may get some money for the work they do
about 7p/10 cents a DAY in some places like primark (uk) And, no that isnt going to feed/clothe/heat a family for a week.
Slavery hasn't been abolished its just been pushed further away.

Wow, seems adorable! But 40 dollars to be able to get the print copy seems a bit steep (for me, at least!). Guess I'll just be peeping online. Shame, I like having physical things!

OMG, I am SOOO excited about this! My sister and I both love Forever and I was just thinking, "What in the world am I going to get her for Christmas?" I just bought her some great clothes from there so now I'm going to add this to the gift. It's PERFECT. Thanks, Nubby! :)
