At the resort I was staying at in Orlando, I discovered a mini beach complete with swan boats (!!!).

A few days ago, Antwan kept telling me about a vintage store in Tampa called La France. I didn’t get what the big deal was since we have a gazillion of them back in Portland. But, he still swore that this one was the absolute best and even drove me there. And, he was right. Everything was perfectly archived and organized by color with little slipcovers over the top. I found this vintage deadstock chef’s blouse from the 60s for $20.00 and it is now one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I have a few other amazing finds that I will be sharing over the next few weeks as well.

Chef uniform blouse, vintage
Headband, Forever 21
Stretch black jeans, Forever 21
Watch, Nixon
Lug sole boots, Camilla Skovgaard

oh nubby! i am loving your Orlando photos. did you stay at the Swan Dolphin by any chance? i am planning a trip to Orlando next year and that is where we are thinking of staying. i’ll admit that the possibility of swan boats is a motivating factor!

ok, orlando…for a moment there, it looked as though you were here in the caribbean! i like that you’re on the beach, but dressed so not beachy. i wish i could pull that off but…well, mostly it’s too hot.
anyway, love that top! something about it is so 80s, in a good way. makes me a bit nostalgic.
and the ankle boots, omg. WOW.

The Camilla Skovgaard ankle boots are stunning, and I bet they traction is amazing for Portland.

I admire your pluck to wear boots to the beach, I’ve always settles myself to sandles for sandy days.

The blouse looks like something from a Japanese avant-garde designer and off course I looove the boots!

Is it just me, or are you and the swan identical twins? Did you plan this??? What a great shot! Love it!

lindsey clare: It was a condo-covered resort that’s owned by Holiday Inn. Swan & Dolphin is on Disney World property, right? I think I saw it from the monorail!

Lillian: I was just passing through. If I was spending my dad on the beach, I’d probably have worn something much more appropriate!

Alicia – Sea OF Ghosts: They are more comfortable than they appear. Took me a few days of regular wear to adjust but now they are like second nature.

Insomnia: Yes, that is sort of what the blouse reminds me of also.

Lola: It was a total fluke! I got out to the beach and was like OMG!!! If I had more time, I would have taken the swan boat for a little spin!

Looking beautiful! (Both you, and your surroundings). I love that you look very relaxed, and still chic.

I have lived in Orlando my whole life (well, Winter Park, but its the outskirts of Orlando) and I have no idea where this resort is with a mini beach! Also, I cannot believe your friend drove you over an hour for a vintage shop. Very cute!

Glad you enjoyed your time in Florida!!

mary: My hair is stick straight and doesn’t hold shape very well…I like it sleek and simple.

Natalie: The resort is owned by Holiday Inn and on Irlo Bronson Highway (?) in Orlando.I can’t believe that he drove me all the way to that shop but I am so glad that he did!
