These Are a Few of My Favorite Shoes

During the summer when I moved into my new office, I cleared my bookshelf of reading material and replaced it with a selection of my favorite shoes in color order. They’ve made it into snapshots here and there, but I’ve never shared close-up images and details until now. So without ado, these are a few of my favorite shoes!

I am notoriously picky about what shoes I buy. I do admit to having a few pairs of shoes that are allocated more for photo appeal but most are in my regular daily rotation. Though it’s a bit repetitive, I’ve listed the order of shoes in each photo so that there’s no need to wonder what kind each is.

Quelques Shoes De Plus distressed white heels with lucite buckles, Marni patent gray wedges, Diana Broussard silver heels with wood soles, Dries Van Noten silk marbled heels, Chloe patent green wedges, Dries Van Noten Fall 2007 patent gray wedges, Miu Miu red 40s inspired heels, Dries Van Noten red buckle boots and Dries Van Noten Fall 2007 patent burgundy wedges.

Dries Van Noten Fall 2007 smooth burgundy wedges, Michael Kors Firebird wedges, Minimarket wedge zipper boots, Sam Edelman Zoe boots, Camilla Skovgaard lug sole ankle boots and Acne Atacoma wedges.

Chloe harness boots, Chloe red platform Doc-inspired boots and red buckle boots from Trash & Vaudevile, circa 2002.

For my 26th, I treated myself to two pairs of Docs. I got a traditional Black Mid-Calf pair and also a really soft brown ‘Miranda’ pair. While I don’t wear a lot of brown, finding a way to put them into use has been fun.
I also really love my Comic-Styled Nike Dunks. They’re a kid shoe, but I’m so lucky I can fit into small things! My other fave pair of kids shoes are my red mary janes and my yellow mary janes.
I tend to enjot shoes more than I always thought I did. I think I buy random shoes all too often (I’m especially eying the limited edition star trek sneakers airwalk/payless made. science blue, oh yes!)

Kathleen: Woohoo, those are amazing! A little too unsteady for everyday wear but to me, they look like sculptures and belong in a glass case.
Melissa Dominic: Docs are always good! Super practical and wearable!

I don’t know why I just found your blog now, but I’m seriously in love with it. All of your shoes are just fabulous – lucky girl. The red chloe boots are my dream shoes, I’m still hoping I’ll get my hands on them one day! Those red buckle boots from Trash & Vaudevile are seriously incredible… are they by Demonia by any chance? x

FOXYMAN: They might be Demonia…I can’t remember the brand and I am traveling at the moment.
Luinae: I worked at shoe stores off and on during college so proper care is really important to me. Good shoes should last year after year!

Hi Nubby,
Great shoes, and great pics! I’ve been keeping up with your blog for a while now, and it is quite inspiring! I don’t work in graphic design per se, but I find all your articles on the design industry incredibly relatable and informative, thanks for the work you do and put up for us…its a great inspiration!
I really admire your shoe collection…I myself am not graceful or coordinated enough to pull off much over 3 inches, but I do love to ogle…
Also, I was wondering, the quality of the pictures is quite nice, were they taken with a lomo or diana/holga camera? Or is it a filer effect of some sort? Would love to know!
Thanks
